FISHER, KIM SOAR IN WORLD RANKINGS

Sergia Garcia - once more the highest-ranked European golfer

England's Ross Fisher is up to 57th in the world after his seven-stroke win in the European Open in England and American Anthony Kim now stands 14th after his second US Tour victory at the AT & T National in Maryland.

At the top of the Rankings list Tiger Woods, despite his long-term injury, still stands firmly at No 1, but in the last few weeks Ernie Els has progressively slipped back from 3rd into 6th place, allowing Adam Scott, Geoff Ogilvy and Stewart Cink to replace him.

Sergio Garcia, now the bookies favourite to win the Open Championship at Royal Birkdale in the absence of Tiger Woods, has used his second place at the European Open on Sunday to move up into seventh place and is once more Europe's highest ranked player ahead of Justin Rose, who has fallen back to No 9 and Padraig Harrington at No 13
